Abhishek Parekh specializes in matters pertaining to Investment Funds, Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions. Abhishek is actively involved in advising domestic and international clients in relation to joint ventures, private equity investments and cross border mergers & acquisitions. He has represented clients in several private equity and M&A transactions across various sectors, including the financial services, real estate, infrastructure and manufacturing sectors. Abhishek is also actively involved in the structuring and setting up of various types of funds, including private equity funds, hedge funds, alternative investment funds (AIFs), Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and Infrastructure Investment Trusts (InvITs) in India, and has represented these funds before the regulatory authorities in India. He has also represented clients on fund-focused M&As and has advised clients in joint ventures for the setting-up and operation of private investment funds. Abhishek has graduated from Government Law College, University of Mumbai and is a qualified Solicitor. Abhishek is also a qualified Chartered Accountant and, prior to joining Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, worked at J. Sagar Associates covering areas of corporate law and at Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) covering diverse areas of audit as well as domestic and international taxation.
