Clients view each problem they face as a business problem, not just a legal problem. They look for advice and counsel to help them identify, address, and resolve those business problems. Ed provides reasoned analysis and straightforward solutions to guide his clients through the challenges they face. Ed focuses his practice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, lending transactions, and board governance issues. He also represents a broad range of manufacturing and service businesses that range from global enterprises to smaller family owned businesses. For more than four decades, Ed has been involved in and experienced a wide variety of issues. He began his practice trying litigation matters and handling labor and employment matters. That experience added to his service on boards of directors allows him to understand and take the perspective of many of his clients. Ed is a skilled negotiator who works well on all sides of the deal. For example, he once revived a complex global supply agreement that had stalled. In just 30 days, he was able to identify all the issues, achieve compromise solutions to each issue with the opposing party, and draft the necessary language to complete the transaction. The client was thrilled.
