Selected to the 2011 through 2019 New Jersey Super Lawyers® * list, featured in New Jersey Monthly magazine, in the field of Schools & Education, Marc H. Zitomer, chairs the Firm’s School Law Practice Group. He also serves on the Firm’s Management Committee. Mr. Zitomer counsels public and private school districts throughout New Jersey and the United States in all facets of school and labor law. School trustees and administrators routinely seek his advice in this complex and ever-evolving areas of law. As an experienced education law attorney, he represents schools of varying sizes and complexity, from K-8 districts, educational services commissions and regional high school districts, to large suburban and urban districts with populations of 10,000 or more pupils and budgets in excess of $200 million. He frequently lectures at both the State and National levels on important issues effecting the educational environment including bullying and cyber-bullying, where he has developed a particular expertise. In addition, Mr. Zitomer has a comprehensive employment law background and he counsels large and small companies and their officers on a variety of matters. In this capacity, he also assists management in conducting investigations into employee misconduct. Further, Mr. Zitomer helps draft legal documents and policies which govern the employer-employee relationship. Mr. Zitomer is frequently called upon to lecture at both the State and national levels on important legal matters affecting management because of his vast depth of knowledge and experience representing employers. He conducts training sessions on numerous employment law topics including sexual harassment in the workplace, The American with Disabilities Act, The New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, The Family & Medical Leave Act, New Jersey’s Whistleblower Law, and conducting effective internal investigations.
