Eric Inglis regularly represents Fortune 500, closely held, and non-profit corporations and their shareholders in the State and Federal Courts of New Jersey. In addition, he also represents a wide variety of licensed professionals in malpractice matters. Clients often call on Eric, who co-chairs Schenck Price’s Litigation Department, chairs its Commercial Litigation Practice Group and co-chairs its Professional Liability and Creditors' Rights Practice Groups, when they are faced with crises that call for immediate and emergent solutions that can be achieved only through litigation. To cite just a few examples, he has assisted clients in recovering millions of dollars from an embezzling employee, obtained favorable buyout packages for clients embroiled in shareholder litigations and fought to have terminated a client’s long-term commercial lease that a landlord fraudulently induced his client to sign. Eric’s commercial litigation experience has encompassed a broad range of industries, from commercial real estate to the petroleum industry to cable television. In his professional liability practice, Eric defends a variety of licensed professionals, including lawyers, doctors, architects, engineers, real estate agents, property managers, surveyors and insurance agents, in multi-million-dollar claims. Eric’s experience as a commercial litigator informs his representation of these professional clients and gives him a better understanding of those clients as businesspeople. In addition, the aggressive and high-stakes nature of Eric’s commercial litigation gives him an edge that distinguishes him from other professional liability defense litigators. Eric is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney and has an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell for ethical standards and legal ability. He has repeatedly been named as one of the “Top 100” attorneys as determined by the New Jersey Super Lawyers® * list featured in New Jersey Monthly magazine. Eric is the past President and still a member of the Board of the Morristown and Morris Township Library Foundation, a private foundation that supports the Joint Free Public Library of Morristown and Morris Township and owns and manages commercial property as part of that entity's endowment. He is also the past President of the West Morris Soccer Club, which manages recreational and travel soccer programs across four municipalities. He is also a licensed youth soccer referee and coach. He rounds out his community involvement by serving as a trsutee of the Great Swamp Watershed Association, an organization that promotes water quality and environmental education in the Passaic River watershed. In 2016, as part of Schenck Price's pro bono efforts and as featured in the Star Ledger article linked here, Eric represented and obtained legal asylum in the United States for a Russian citizen who had been persecuted for his support of an independent Ukraine and his opposition to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Following that successful representation, Eric continues representing pro bono clients.
