Veena Krishnan heads the real estate practice for the firm and has over 20 years of experience in real estate and property law and laws relating to the rights of women at workplace. She is also a part of firm’s POSH practice. Veena completed her law from the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru in the year 1999. She has extensive experience in structuring, negotiating and documenting real estate investments and real estate finance transactions. She also handles title diligences, certification of statutory approvals, sales, acquisitions, and leasing of various types of residential, commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects. She has extensively worked with real estate developers, financiers and investors in various real estate, industrial and infrastructure assets. Veena is also on the statutory Prevention of Sexual Harassment committees of a number of her clients and has developed niche expertise in this area. She has handled cases filed by women employees of such companies under the provisions of the Sexual Harassment (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act). Veena has successfully attended and completed the CADRE Certified Arbitrator program and is an arbitrator on panel with them. Veena is an Environmental activist as well. She is the founder of an initiative called ‘Green Footprint’, a collective of committed citizens aiming to spread the message of sustainability, particularly in the areas of zero litter, awareness on plastic pollution and water conservation. ‘Green Footprint’ leads by example with its members leading a sustainable life and also spread awareness on sustainability.
