Roger Blears Bio

Roger is the founder and senior partner of RW Blears. He advises clients on the corporate, tax and regulatory aspects of alternative and tax efficient structures for investment funds and equity and debt investments. He has particular expertise in venture capital trusts and EIS funds and is a former director of two technology focussed venture capital trusts; one of which he floated in his capacity as a Stock Exchange listing sponsor. He believes he is regarded by his clients as a highly innovative ‘can do’ corporate finance lawyer. Roger is an enthusiast, naturally cheerful and curious about most things. He plays his cello in two string ensembles and passed his ABRSM grade 8 performance examination in the classical guitar when he was 50. He is also a keen cyclist; a livery member of the Worshipful Company of Founders and manages a small charitable company called Velanidia which makes grant awards to support the education and training of young people funded by donations from clients for whom the firm undertakes pro bono work.
