Leo De Rosa, founder and managing partner of the Firm, specializes in the protection, transmission and transfer of business and family assets, ranging from corporate reorganizations to private equity transactions and the implementation of generational dialogue tools. After some experiences in leading national and international firms, he founded the Russo De Rosa Associati law and tax firm, a market leader in extraordinary transactions, generational transition, asset protection, real estate finance, tax litigation and financial and international taxation. After collaborating for over ten years in the course of “Financial statements and extraordinary management operations” at Luigi Bocconi University, he was appointed contract professor in the course of “Business valuation and extraordinary operations” at the State University of Milan. He carries out an intense publishing activity and among the most recent publications we remember in 2024 a book on the transmission of assets and business succession, in 2023 “Extraordinary Operations – Technique and practice of business and family discontinuity”, between 2016 and 2017 a series composed of six volumes regarding extraordinary operations and in 2015 a volume on voluntary disclosure. More ancient we remember a volume on debt restructuring agreements (2014), on business succession (2014), on generational transition (2012), on the tax shield (2010), on the taxation of real estate (2009). Since 2021, he has taken over the scientific direction of the new platform “Modulo24 Extraordinary Operations”, created by Il Sole24ORE. Since 2011 he has been a member of the jury of the "Di padre in figlio" award and since 2013 he has collaborated with "Piazza Affari" (Rai3) commenting live on measures and news in the tax field. Since 2010 he has been a member of the Order of Journalists, Publicists Register. He represents the Firm and is a member of the Tax and Legal commission in AIFI (Italian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association) and of the Tax & Legal & Compliance and Wealth Advisory commissions in AIPB (Italian Private Banking Association). Also in AIPB, since 2013, he chairs and coordinates the "Private Entrepreneurs" working group. Since 2014, he has been the scientific director of Abi Formazione on the topics of asset protection and generational transition. His professional achievements have been recognized over the years also by the assignment of awards by juries formed by leading figures in the economic, financial and entrepreneurial world: in 2023 he was the winner of the Legalcommunity Tax Awards in the category “Professional of the Year Tax Private Equity”, in 2022 at the Advisory Awards organized by Milano Finanza he won the award as best professional in the Tax M&A category, at the Legalcommunity Tax Awards in 2020 he won the award “Best Practice Private Equity” and in 2019 the award “Best Practice Private Clients & Wealth Management”. Also in 2019 at the Legalcommunity Corporate Awards he was awarded as “Professional of the Year Tax M&A”. In 2017 he was the winner of the Legalcommunity Tax Awards in the category “Professional of the Year Tax Private Equity” and at the Top Legal Industry Awards in the category “Professional of the Year Investment Funds”. In 2015, at the Tax & Finance Awards , he received the "Tax Consulting Professional of the Year" award. The same recognition was given to him in 2014 together with Alberto Russo as founder of the "Tax Consulting Firm of the Year". For three consecutive years he has been included by Legalcommunity in the ranking of the Best 50 Italian Lawyers. In 1991 he obtained his high school diploma with top marks from the “Francesco D'Ovidio” classical high school in Larino (CB) and in 1997 he graduated with top marks and honors from the Luigi Bocconi University in Milan. He has been a member of the Order of Chartered Accountants since 2001 and of the Register of Statutory Auditors since 2003. He corresponds fluently in Italian and English.
