Paul Armstrong is a partner in the firm's private equity transactions group in the London office with over 25 years experience in global private equity. Paul advises private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies globally in a wide range of matters, specializing in the execution and structuring of transactions from leveraged buyouts, strategic stake sales, growth investments, mergers and acquisitions as well as general corporate matters. Having come from a leading global private equity firm prior to joining Ropes & Gray, he has a profound understanding of the legal and executional opportunities and challenges that face leading sponsors as they seek to maximise returns during the investment cycle and through to exit. In addition to traditional private market exit routes, Paul has a deep knowledge of IPOs and ECM transactions having, prior to joining Ropes & Gray, led the execution of numerous IPOs and pre-IPO investments globally; this has spanned from pre-IPO readiness, through the IPO itself and on to post IPO governance and ultimately to sell downs. Paul advises on transactions across many industries and verticals, including consumer, renewable energy, healthcare and life sciences, business services, education and technology.
