Xavier Costa is a Partner at RocaJunyent and Co-Head of the firm’s International Department, advising international clients on complex M&A, private equity, and corporate transactions involving Spain. Based in the Barcelona office, he is frequently appointed as lead counsel by foreign investors, multinational groups, and international funds for both strategic and investment-driven mandates. With more than 20 years of experience, Xavier brings deep expertise in cross-border acquisitions, joint ventures, business restructurings, venture capital and shareholders’ agreements. His focus lies in delivering pragmatic, business-oriented legal solutions, with a particular emphasis on high-value and multi-jurisdictional transactions. Xavier combines technical excellence with cross-cultural fluency. His professional background includes international postings and legal work across various jurisdictions, giving him the ability to align Spanish legal frameworks with global deal dynamics. Recognised by Legal 500 and Best Lawyers in Spain for his Corporate/M&A practice, Xavier is also the 2024 exclusive contributor for Spain to the Legal 500 comparative guide “Investing in”. He recently completed executive education in negotiation and mediation at Harvard Law School. Xavier is a member of the Barcelona Bar Association (ICAB), the International Bar Association (IBA), and the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA), which he served as President in 2018–2019.
