Sean Grygiel Bio

Sean Grygiel is a seasoned attorney with over 20 years of experience in intellectual property and technology transactions, working across industries such as fintech, adtech, data analytics, gaming, life sciences, foodtech, logistics, and consumer products. Known for his business-oriented approach, Sean advises clients ranging from startups to multinational corporations on developing, licensing, and monetizing IP and tech portfolios. He also serves as outside general counsel to various companies and is a former co-founder of a mobile startup, bringing a unique entrepreneurial perspective to his legal practice. Sean has extensive experience in negotiating IP and tech agreements, including licensing deals, SaaS contracts, open-source compliance, R&D partnerships, and supply agreements. He advises on data privacy, cybersecurity, and IP asset valuation to align legal strategy with business goals. His transactional work includes individual tech transfers and major acquisitions involving public companies. Notable engagements include a $40M cross-border development deal in foodtech, a $200M+ fashion tech co-development agreement, and a $500M medical device acquisition. He’s also led strategic IP programs and performed complex freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses in highly regulated sectors. Sean manages all phases of U.S. and international patent and trademark prosecution, integrating IP strategy with product development, litigation, licensing, and M&A efforts.
