Fernando Samaniego Bio

Fernando Samaniego is the head of the Litigation and Arbitration Department at Prieto. In charge of the Dispute Resolution area, he is involved in lawsuits and proceedings before ordinary and arbitral courts in various matters, including construction, insurance, real estate and administrative law, and environmental issues. He has also been legal counsel in proceedings before administrative and regulatory authorities and has acted as arbitrator. He works actively in the Competition and Antitrust Department and is involved in diverse proceedings before the Antitrust Court. During his career, he has practiced in several areas of the law, including the Capital Market, Mergers and Acquisitions, Property Law and Construction, and has been legal counsel in major transactions and projects. He has spoken at many seminars and conferences on Arbitration and Competition. He has been recognized in multiple international rankings as a leading partner in the Dispute Resolution area. He is currently a member of the board of Directors of Aguas Andinas S.A. and a member of the arbitral panel at the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce AG and the National Arbitration Center. Fernando joined Prieto in 1988 and became partner in 1998.
