Mariana Baron practices with Preti Flaherty’s Corporate and M&A and Immigration practice groups from the firm’s Portland office, where she focuses on mergers and acquisitions and general corporate matters, business immigration, and international tax issues. She advises clients in all stages of development–from start-ups and entrepreneurs to multinational companies–on complex domestic and international law issues, including cross-border corporate reorganizations and global mobility. Mariana’s experience as an attorney in Argentina and her work for a law firm in Switzerland has given her unique perspective and insight into the complexities of multi-jurisdictional laws and regulations. Her clients appreciate her practical, business-centric mindset and value her real-world guidance. She has built longstanding relationships with clients, teaming with them both on complicated transactions spanning years, and the day-to-day issues that arise while running an international company. Before joining Preti Flaherty, Mariana worked at a law firm in Boston, playing a key role in immigration cases before the Board of Immigration Appeals and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the First, Third, and Eighth Circuits. Mariana served as a law clerk for the Hon. William G. Young at the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. She is a graduate of Boston College Law School, and Universidad Torcuato Di Tella and Universidad Austral in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
