Jorge De los Rios is a partner at Posse Herrera Ruiz. His practice focuses on Competition Law, Consumer Protection, Unfair Competition Litigation, Protection of Personal Data, and Compliance. He has extensive experience advising on regulatory matters in the food industry, alcoholic beverages, the pharmaceutical industry, the tobacco industry, and the cosmetics and personal care products and home industries. He has advised multinational and local companies in multiple cases of business concentrations in Colombia and globally and has participated in some of the most relevant cases of business cartels in Colombia. He has worked globally as a Global Competition Counsel for Unilever on issues related to business concentrations, compliance, restrictive competition practices, and private enforcement. In parallel to his professional practice, he has served as a professor of Competition Law at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and at the Eafit University of Medellín and has been a postgraduate professor at various universities in Colombia on multiple occasions. Jorge is repeatedly invited as an expert lecturer to multiple conferences specialized in Competition Law issues in Colombia and abroad and is a member of the Center for Competition Law Studies – CEDEC of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and a founding member of the Colombian Association of Competition Law ACDC. Jorge has authored several specialized publications on Competition Law issues. He is a graduate of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and has master’s and postgraduate studies from Robert Schuman University and King’s College London, respectively.
