Shinya Akiyama, a Pillsbury Corporate partner, has counseled Japanese companies starting, acquiring and managing U.S. business, and preventing and defending lawsuits, for 26 years. Shinya advises clients as they pursue M&A, corporate, commercial and finance transactions in the U.S., guiding them through the processes of forming business entities, creating joint ventures and strategic alliances, buying and selling equity interests and assets, and establishing sales, distributorship and licensing networks. Besides transactional matters, he has also represented clients in post-merger integration and governance matters involving Japanese parents and U.S. subsidiaries.
