Chris Zeevenhooven read law at the University of Amsterdam and she started her legal career in the beginning of 1998 at CMS in Amsterdam. From 2006 until 2013, she was a partner at a full service law firm in Amsterdam where she was responsible for the employment law department. After that, Chris started her own law firm from the ground up where she created the opportunity for herself to expand on her entrepreneurship and professional network. Chris has joined Penrose as an employment law partner as of 1 May 2020. She represents companies, board members and employees regarding all aspects of Dutch employment law. Chris has the ability to unburden her clients without losing the overall picture. She is a strategic thinker who resolves legal problems in a quick and practical way. Chris also regularly organizes presentations and training for HR managers focusing on prevention of legal conflicts and communication in employment relationships. Chris has broad experience in the area of sports law. Amongst others, she has been active as a judge in the arbitration commission of the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) and she has represented players, coaches and club board members both in the capacity of a lawyer as well as a players agent. In 2004, Chris successfully completed a postgraduate degree in labour law at the Grotius Academy. She is a member of the Association of Employment Lawyers in the Netherlands (VAAN), the Amsterdam Employment Lawyers Association (VAAA), the Association for Labour Law (VvA), and the Association for Sports and Law (VSR).
