Chantal Bakermans started her legal career as an intellectual property lawyer with a trademark agency. In 2010 she was admitted to the Dutch Bar, working several years as an attorney-at-law with an international law firm. Chantal switched to a big4 firm where she worked for 2,5 years as a legal advisor. Chantal joined Penrose in March 2018. Chantal specialises in IT- and privacy law and intellectual property (IP). She advises both national and international clients in various industries in the area of IP protection and IP (re)structuring, software development and IT/cloud contract negotiations and all matters concerning privacy/data protection in view of technological developments such as SaaS, Blockchain, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence. Chantal holds a master degree in Information Law (University of Amsterdam) and a master degree Civil Law (Maastricht University) and also holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E) certification.
