Alexander Shapiro is Co-Chair of the Firm’s Corporate department. His practice focuses primarily on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and workouts involving residential mortgage backed securities (RMBS). He has represented numerous clients in a variety of industries in connection with Initial Public Offerings, other registered equity and debt offerings, tender offers, going private transactions, Rule 144A offerings, PIPE transactions, acquisitions involving public and privately-held companies, private equity and venture capital financings and commercial credit transactions. In addition, Mr. Shapiro has extensive experience representing financial guaranty insurers and institutional investors in workouts, restructurings and litigation involving RMBS transactions, and is co-chair of the Firm’s Structured Finance Litigation Practice Group. Mr. Shapiro’s practice also involves a substantial amount of general, day-to-day corporate representation of clients in a variety of matters, including Exchange Act and SRO compliance and reporting, general commercial contracts and corporate governance matters. Mr. Shapiro’s particular industry experience includes financial services, marketing communications, educational services, media and entertainment, consumer products and REITs.
