Since 1991, Karl Maria Walter advises clients on corporate and commercial law matters, as well as in corporate transactions (mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, restructurings, etc.). In addition, he specializes on complex dispute resolution matters (in particular corporate and transaction-related disputes, litigation and arbitration). Karl represents multinational corporations, their affiliates and subsidiaries in Germany, privately owned companies belonging to the so-called „Mittelstand“, as well as shareholders, stakeholders and board members. Before joining the partnership of OMF in 2018, Karl was an attorney for 27 years in large international law firms in the practice groups Corporate/M&A and Dispute Resolution, 22 years of which as a partner. Partly, he also held the position of a managing director (Geschäftsführer), office managing partner, and practice group head. As an attorney practicing in Frankfurt am Main, London and Berlin, he gained outstanding professional expertise which is regularly specially noted and recommended in the JUVE Annual Yearbook German Commercial Law Firms for the areas corporate law and dispute resolution, as well as in “The Lawyer” among the “Best Lawyers in Germany“, and in the German business periodical “Handelsblatt” among „Deutschlands beste Anwälte“ for corporate law. Karl is the author of various legal publications in the areas of corporate and contract law, mergers & acquisitions, exchange law, and energy law.
