Carsten Bormann Bio

Carsten Bormann advises and represents national and international clients on all aspects of public law. In particular, he advises international companies on investment control and other regulatory issues in the context of corporate transactions and restructurings. In the 2024 JUVE Rankings, Carsten Bormann is listed as one of the 50 leading lawyers for investment control. Another focus of his work is the design and implementation of compliance structures. Carsten Bormann advises companies on criminal, export and sanctions law risks and, in cases of suspicion, accompanies internal investigations as well as official criminal and administrative fine proceedings. In addition to advising on transactions, Carsten Bormann also advises companies directly on regulatory issues and conducts complex administrative proceedings, including appeals against regulatory measures and licensing proceedings. More recently, he has increasingly been involved in climate change regulation and ESG compliance.
