Anna-Gesine Zimmermann has been a lawyer at Oppenhoff since 2017. She studied law at Cologne University. Her legal training included secondments to the German Federal Cartel Office in Bonn, to Oppenhoff and to the Dispute Resolution practice of CMS in Cologne. Prior to her legal training Anna-Gesine Zimmermann worked in the Department for Civil Law, International Commercial Law, IPR, Comparative Law and Banking Law at Cologne University, assisting in particular with the Cologne Willem C. Vis Moot Court Team. In 2016 she was awarded her doctorate “Dr. iur ”under Prof. Dr. Klaus Peter Berger on the topic “Agreements between parties on the qualifications of arbitrators”. At Oppenhoff she organizes the Cologne Vis Moot School together with Dr. Vanessa Pickenpack. Anna-Gesine Zimmermann is a member of the German Institution of Arbitration V. (DIS)], the DIS40 German Initiative of Young Arbitrators [DIS40 German initiative of young arbitrators] as well as the Cologne Bar Association [Kölner Anwaltverein e. V. (KAV)] and the German Institute for Distribution Law [Deutsche Gesellschaft für Vertriebsrecht e. V.]. Anna-Gesine Zimmermann specializes in litigation and arbitration. She advises and represents national and international enterprises in civil, mercantile and commercial law disputes. This encompasses both extrajudicial dispute resolution as well as the enforcement and defense of claims before state courts and arbitral tribunals. A further focus of her activities is the drafting of contracts and advice on their implementation, in particular purchase agreements and contracts for works. In 2019, she expanded her know-how on contract reviewing and drafting during an eight-month secondment to a medium-sized company in Berlin. Anna-Gesine Zimmermann also advises clients on matters of distribution law - in particular the defense of compensation claims.
