Alf Baars advises German and foreign enterprises and financial investors on national and cross-border company transactions, joint venture projects, restructurings and other corporate law issues. He specialises in M&A transactions involving Iberian and Latin American jurisdictions. Alf Baars is listed in the branch leader JUVE Handbook as a frequently recommended lawyer in the areas of M&A and corporate law. Furthermore, Chambers Global names Alf Baars as the only foreign expert in Germany in the field of corporate/M&A for Latin America. Alf Baars is a partner of Oppenhoff. In 2006 he began his career as an attorney at Linklaters LLP in Cologne. He studied law at the Universities of Bonn, Geneva and Munich and worked as a research associate at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg. He has collectively spent several years studying abroad, in particular in Latin America and Australia.
