Kenya Tanaka Bio

Kenya has been involved in numerous domestic and international M&A and restructuring transactions. He has strong expertise in M&A deals relating to turnarounds (early-stage restructuring deals) and cross-border deals, and uses his training and work experience at a major Japanese trading company and other law firms in New York (U.S.A.) and São Paulo (Brazil) for the benefit of his clients. Kenya engages in general corporate legal matters with a focus on domestic and international M&A and restructuring transactions. In addition to general M&A transactions, he has extensive experience in M&A transactions involving business restructuring (e.g., sale of unprofitable businesses, divestitures, and sponsorship deals). He was seconded to and trained at Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (Tokyo, Japan, 2009-2010), Sullivan & Cromwell LLP (New York, USA, 2011-2012), and Pinheiro Neto Advogados (São Paulo, Brazil, 2012-2013), and since then, he has used his experience to advise clients on cross-border matters from a multifaceted and strategic perspective, in order to ensure efficient and effective execution in each case, according to his client’s needs.
