John Paul Teague is a partner with the Firm’s San Diego office. He is a member of the Firm's Corporate and Real Estate Practice Groups presently focusing on real estate transactions, corporate law, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Teague has extensive experience advising individuals, families, and small and medium-sized enterprises on tax-efficient asset accumulation, preservation, acquisition and transfer of assets, in addition to operational and compliance matters. Mr. Teague also counsels clients in connection with complex real property sales and commercial lease matters. In addition, Mr. Teague often supports the Firm's litigation attorneys in complex cases involving corporate transactions, real estate, securities, trade secrets, and other matters. Prior to joining Musick Peeler, Mr. Teague was an attorney handling commercial and real estate transactions and corporate compliance, as well as general civil litigation with the Smaha Law Group. Mr. Teague received a B.A. in Economics and Political Science with Minors in Japanese and Chinese from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and earned his J.D. from the University of San Diego Law School and his International M.B.A. from University of San Diego’s Knauss School of Business with a focus on finance. Mr. Teague and his wife, Maki, have two daughters, Mio and Mizuki. Mr. Teague regularly acts as an attorney coach for the San Diego County High School Mock Trial Competition.
