Head of our Corporate team, Philip is ranked by both Legal 500 UK and Chambers & Partners for his transactional work and is frequently quoted in the guides as a ‘standout partner’. Named ‘Lawyer of the Year’ at the Insider North East Dealmakers Awards three times, he is highly sought after for his advice on a wide range of deals, including business acquisitions and disposals, private equity investments and public company transactions. Philip is a trusted adviser to a number of significant businesses in the region and is a very experienced corporate partner. He has acted for Fairstone Group on over 50 acquisitions and advised Aspire Technology on its investment by private equity fund LDC and subsequent acquisitions. Philip led the team at Muckle that advised Hays Travel on its acquisition of the Thomas Cook retail portfolio of 555 stores, as well as Vertu’s acquisition of Helston Garages, which included 28 franchised sales outlets.
