and access,
Philip Clare advises clients on a whole range of corporate finance matters, such as business acquisitions and disposals, private equity transactions, corporate reorganisations, public company transactions, general company law and corporate governance matters. In April 2021, Philip was awarded ‘Corporate Lawyer of the Year’ at the Insider North East Dealmakers Awards, and consecutively, in 2017 and 2018. He frequently acts for clients buying or selling businesses and on private equity transactions, and also regularly advises on company law and corporate governance matters. He has advised on a range of public company transactions, including AIM IPOs, further fundraisings, de-listings and takeovers. For a number of years he also acted as company secretary to a local regeneration body, which included attending all board, committee and member meetings, as well as advising on constitutional matters. An avid sportsman, Philip enjoys playing football and golf, as well as running and cycling. However, as a big Sunderland fan (he’s been a season ticket holder at the Stadium of Light for over 15 years), the view from his Muckle LLP office window across to St. James’ Park isn’t, he admits, one he particularly appreciates.
