Marvin Mitchell received his undergraduate degree from Ohio State University, and his Juris Doctor degree from the Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis. While in law school, he served as a research assistant to the Chief Justice of the Indiana Supreme Court. He is admitted to practice in the United States Courts of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, as well as the Supreme Court of the United States. He has argued before the Indiana Supreme Court, the Seventh Circuit and the Indiana Court of Appeals. Marvin has authored more than fifty articles on real estate, dissolution, trial practice, taxes, estate planning and corporate law for Res Gestae, the Practical Lawyer, the Real Estate Practical Lawyer, Fair Share, the American Bar Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association, and the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum. He has served as a panelist and as chairman of dozens of continuing legal education seminars. He was co-editor of The Indiana Trial Notebook and the Indiana Trial Systems for the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum. For the Indianapolis Bar Association, he served as the editor of the Encyclopedia of Indiana Real Estate Forms and the Encyclopedia of Indiana Real Estate Forms 2d. He is a member of the Indianapolis, Indiana State, and American Bar Associations. He has been rated AV Preeminent (highest level of professional excellence) by Martindale-Hubbell for many decades and was a Top Ten Super Lawyer-Indiana as published in the Indianapolis Monthly and has been listed in the The Best Lawyers in America (in five categories- Indianapolis Bet the Company Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Litigation – Real Estate, Family Law and Real Estate Law). Previously he was named “Indianapolis Best Lawyers – Litigation-Real Estate Lawyer of the Year”. Marvin practices in the areas of real estate law and litigation, business law and business litigation, trusts and estates and family law.
