As a principal in our Corporate & Securities Practice Group, Lisa Keenan focuses her practice on helping healthcare clients achieve their business goals while maintaining compliance with complex federal and state health care regulations. She has provided clients with legal advice in areas that include government investigations, negotiation of strategic alliances and partnerships, private investment, physician recruitment and practice acquisition, corporate practice of medicine, Medicare billing and reimbursement, health care compliance and corporate governance. Lisa’s regulatory expertise includes fraud and abuse laws (e.g., Anti-Kickback and Stark), HIPAA, Sunshine Act, Medicare/Medicaid compliance and professional licensing. Her clients include hospitals, physician groups, continuing care retirement communities, emerging medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers and other health care providers and businesses. She also provides outside general counsel services to a number of clients, which includes providing legal advice on a variety of matters such as employment issues, service contracts, investor relations, board governance, confidentiality agreements and other day-to-day legal needs. Formerly a counsel at Venable LLP, Lisa also has several years of experience as in-house counsel to Marriott International and BioMarker Strategies, an emerging life sciences company.
