Eric Franklin Horvitz is an experienced corporate lawyer who has counseled companies on business and tax issues in northern Virginia and beyond for more than 30 years. Eric helps businesses negotiate asset acquisitions and dispositions, finance transactions (both equity and debt) and structure executive compensation. He also helps owners of closely held companies understand how a business issue may affect their personal estate planning. To that end, Eric represents clients in estate planning matters involving wills, trusts and estates and advises businesses on succession planning, complex trusts and fiduciary liability. Eric has completed numerous M&A and mezzanine funding transactions for private equity firms. He also helps clients resolve tax controversies, representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and state authorities in examination and collection efforts in income, sales and use and estate and gift tax matters. Among his industry honors, Eric has been listed among Virginia Business magazine’s “Legal Elite” for business law three times.
