Celia Van Lenten represents clients in the full spectrum of regulatory and transactional matters that arise in health care, with niche practices in helping clients navigate and comply with HIPAA, HITECH and state privacy and data security laws and advising clients through health care contracting and mergers and acquisitions. Her clients include a broad array of organizations across the health care sector, including health care providers, medical device and pharmaceutical companies, managed care organizations, group health plans, telemedicine companies and digital health companies. Celia's regulatory practice includes HIPAA, HITECH, and state privacy and data security laws; healthcare fraud and abuse; Medicare and Medicaid compliance for participating providers and managed care organizations; healthcare licensure, certification, and accreditation; state corporate practice of medicine and fee-splitting laws; telemedicine; medical staff and credentialing matters; and patient care matters. In her transactional practice, Celia has represented clients in matters including provider contracting, managed care contracting, commercial contracting, and mergers and acquisitions. Celia’s past in-house experiences have deepened her understanding of the challenges her clients face. She served as the interim hospital counsel for two hospitals within a large, diversified health system in the mid-Atlantic region. In addition, Celia served as legal counsel to a national pharmacy benefit management company.
