Omer Er is a partner in M&R’s New York office. In that capacity, he advises clients across industries— banking, media and technology among them—in cross border disputes, arbitrations and foreign direct investment. Prior to joining M&R, Omer was partner at a boutique disputes and investigations law firm with an international footprint. Before that, he was the Founder and Managing Partner of Middle Bridge Partners, an investment firm supporting U.S.-based early-stage new economy companies. Omer began his legal career as a corporate attorney at one of the world’s largest law firms. While there, he provided legal, public policy and corporate strategic advice to several multinational corporations, including Lehman Brothers, Newscorp, Turner Broadcasting, Shell and Nokia. On behalf of these and other clients, he handled complex cross-border merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions and foreign direct investments in multiple jurisdictions. Having a particular interest in the global free market economy, Omer has published several articles and editorial works on foreign direct investments. In addition, he is a frequent participant on panels discussing cross-border and multi-jurisdictional business operations. Omer’s past and current civic engagements include memberships of the Atlantic Council, Milken Institute and a Turkey-based young businessperson association (GYIAD); a board member and chair of Americas of World Turkish Business Council (DTIK); and former board member of Independent Businessmen and Industrialists Association of USA. Fluent in Turkish and having been selected as one of the 40 under 40 Influential Turkish Americans and a Young Society Leader by the American Turkish Society, Omer is sought after by both Turkish and international media for comment on U.S.-Turkey relations.
