Jeffrey Hoyt is a Partner in our Saint John office and the leader of the firm’s cannabis group. Jeff carries on a general corporate commercial practice with a focus on commercial transactions (including acquisitions and dispositions of businesses by way of share purchase or asset sales), secured lending (acting for either the borrower or the lender in the financing of real or personal property) and securities law. He acts for issuers or agents/underwriters in corporate finance transactions, including raising capital by way of prospectus offering, private placement and offering memorandum and advises issuers and registrants with respect to continuous disclosure and regulatory compliance issues. Jeff acts for clients in a variety of industries, including aviation, transportation, manufacturing and fabrication, and pharmaceuticals. Jeff has extensive experience acting for clients in business law transactions, including asset purchases and sales, corporate reorganizations, and debt financing transactions. He is a frequent lecturer on corporate-commercial law and securities law matters. Jeff is listed in the Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory as a Leading Lawyer. He also received the Best Lawyers 2019 and 2018 Securities Law “Lawyer of the Year” awards for Saint John. Jeff is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of New Brunswick and the Law Society of Ontario.
