Donald Mckenzie is a Shareholder in Maynard Cooper’s Corporate Section with more than 35 years of experience representing publicly traded and privately held companies in all aspects of transactional and financing matters. His clients span the industry spectrum and have included bank holding companies, business service providers, healthcare companies, and insurance companies. He has extensive experience handling mergers, acquisitions, securities matters, corporate governance issues, and equity and employment arrangements for executives. Donald’s financing expertise involves venture capital, mezzanine, and capital raises. Born and raised in Harare, Zimbabwe, Donald worked at the Office of the Attorney General and in private practice in Salisbury, Rhodesia prior to migrating to the United States in 1975. He served as an officer in the Rhodesian Army. His prior practice includes working with global firms in New York and Chicago before moving to Nashville. He co-founded McKenzie Laird Ottinger Leach, PLLC, which merged with Maynard Cooper in 2019.
