Maria Amélia has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate governance, and regulatory matters concerning public and private companies. She is often involved in corporate governance issues, investor rights, management duties, and controlling shareholders. In the banking area, Maria Amélia advises financial institutions, fintechs, and borrowers on credit, investment, and fundraising transactions, as well as on licensing and authorizations, the structuring of financial and payment products, and compliance with financial and capital markets regulations. She also worked as an international attorney at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in the capital markets area in New York.
