Bio

Roberto Rio assists companies, financial institutions and private equity funds in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions and in matters relating to corporate governance. He also provides advice on matters of commercial and corporate law and he has over twenty years experience in international business law. He was a partner at Clifford Chance LLP from 2001 to 2005 and at Grimaldi from 2006 to 2011. He is Vice Chairman of Simest, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti Group, and he was a member of the board of directors of Sacbo, the management company of Orio al Serio Airport (Bergamo). Upon appointment of the Minister of Justice, he was a member of the Commission for the Reform of Insolvency Law. During Mr Letta’s Government, he served as advisor for International Relations of the Ministry of Environment, Land and Sea. He is ranked in the primary legal directories among the Italian M&A and private equity experts. Chambers and Partners ranks him among the “Leaders in their field” for Corporate/M&A - Italy.
