Bio

Seung Ryong Oh has served as the chief representative at Lee & Ko Beijing Office since 2005, came back to Lee & Ko Seoul Office in 2013, and returned to Lee & Ko Beijing Office in 2018. As the partner in charge of Lee & Ko's China practice, Mr. Oh has handled numerous China-related transactions and disputes including, the collection dispute of sales claims in China by D company, the dispute of home shopping business in China by H company, the management dispute in China by S company, the opening of the Lotte Department Store in Beijing, incorporation, operation, sale and liquidation of the Chinese subsidiaries of SK Networks, sale of shares in the China subsidiary of POSCO Engineering & Construction, dissolution of the China subsidiary of Chosun Refractories, incorporation of a joint venture company of Chungho Nais in China, trademark dispute in China involving K2 Korea, and management control dispute involving the Chinese subsidiary of Woosung Enterprise. Prior to heading the Beijing Office, and after returning to the Seoul office, Mr. Oh has handled various landmark transactions including sale of shares in LG Semiconductors, sale of shares in Korea First Bank (currently Standard Chartered KFB) and subsequent disputes arising out of the sale agreement, acquisition of the Daesan plant of BOC Gas, sale of shares in certain subsidiaries of Kookmin Bank and Woori Bank, and sales of Chinese subsidiaries of Korean companies. Mr. Oh serves as a member of the legal support team for Korean residents and companies in China, operated by the Korean Embassy in China. He was also a vice chairman of Korea Chamber of Commerce in China, and previously served as member of the Special Committee for Revision of the Conflict of Laws Act (Ministry of Justice), International Transactions Legal Support Group (Ministry of Justice), and director of the Korea Private International Law Association.
