Keum Sub Park is a partner at Lee & Ko. He currently leads Lee & Ko's Japan Practice Team as well as the Environment Practice Team. Since joining the firm in 1998, Mr. Park has developed extensive experience in sophisticated corporate and commercial matters, particularly in the areas of business formation, mergers and acquisitions, foreign investments and joint ventures. He has substantial experience representing Japanese clients and has also developed high expertise in environmental matters. Mr. Park's major work includes, among others, Hanwha Group's acquisition of Korea Life and Shindonga Fire and Marine Insurance, Ford Motor Company's attempted acquisition of Daewoo Motors, Asahi Beer's attempted acquisition of Jinro Soju, Columbian Chemicals Corporation's acquisition of carbon black business of Keumho Petrochemical and establishment of joint venture by LG Nortel. His Japanese clients include Asahi Beer, Softbank, UCC, Brooks Brothers, Japan Alternative Investment, Nomura Securities, Mitsubishi Corporation, Nippon Express, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Seiko Epson, Orix, Sumitomo Chemicals, Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Sumitomo Chemical Analysis, ASICS, Yamato Steel, Mizuho Securities, Panasonic, Mitsui Chemicals, and AVEX Group. He also represented a Japanese company in the claims relating to asbestos related injuries. He also advised a British affiliate of Gazprom Group regarding CER purchase. Mr. Park received his LL.M. degree in 2004 from the University of Minnesota Law School and his LL.B. degree from the Seoul National University in 1990. He has worked for Nishimura & Partners in Japan as a foreign associate from 2004 to 2005. Mr. Park is a member of the Korean Bar Association since 1998 and a member of the New York State Bar since 2005.
