Hee Jeu Kang, a partner in the Securities & Capital Markets Group, primarily practices in the areas of corporate finance, corporate governance, M&As, investment operations, private equity funds, issuance of asset-based securities and compliance with finance and capital markets laws and regulations including the Financial Investment Services and Capital Markets Act. Mr. Kang has extensive experience particularly in advising investment banks and securities companies in relation to their investment activities and has been recognized for providing outstanding advice and solutions to the satisfaction of his clients. Mr. Kang's clients include major banks, financial investment companies and general corporations. Most recently, he advised a private equity fund sponsored by the Korea Development Bank (KDB Value VI Private Equity Fund) in its acquisition of Daewoo E&C. Other representative private equity deals include the acquisition of Kumho Autolease by a private equity fund sponsored by Shinhan Capital (Value-Up Private Equity Fund) and the acquisition of Lakeside Country Club by a private equity fund sponsored by Woori Investment & Securities (Mars Private Equity Fund No. 2). A recent example of commercial property acquisition he advised on is CNH's purchase of Marriott Executives Apartments located in Yeoido Park Center, Seoul. He also assisted major conglomerates in their M&A activities, such as the merger of LG Innotek and LG Micron and SK Group's sale of SK Teletek. Mr. Kang also provides advisory services on U.S. Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA).
