As a partner in the Capital Markets Practice Group, Gui Hwan Yang practice focuses on advising and representing leading domestic and foreign financial institutions with regard to a broad range of capital markets transactions and regulatory compliance matters, including structured finance, mergers and acquisitions, project finance, SOC funds (establishment and operational issues), securities offerings, corporate restructuring, syndicated lending, and investments by asset management companies and private equity firms, etc. He has also acted as a key advisor on the structuring of new investment products listed on the Korea Exchange. Before joining Lee & Ko, he worked as an investment banker at Tongyang Securities, Inc., Volat Altus Holdings, Inc. and Lodestone Partners LLC for six years, where, among other things, he acted as in-house legal counsel responsible for advising on various legal and compliance matters, headed the M&A/PEF team within a highly active investment banking division, and participated as an advisor and analyst in the restructuring and reorganization of a number of large corporate groups. Given his extensive legal experience and expertise in the capital markets sector, Mr. Yang is particularly well-equipped to provide clients with effective and custom-tailored assistance with any financial and capital markets matters that may arise.
