Bio

Samuel Skorepa joined Lane & Waterman in 2010 and focuses primarily on estate planning, probate, and trust administration as well as real estate transactions and development. He also assists corporations, limited liability companies, and other entities with formation, structure, and advises on general business, contractual issues, mergers and acquisitions, governance, due diligence, and compliance. Additionally, Sam advises Non-Profits on formation, tax exemption, and governance matters. Sam has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star, in Corporate & Business Law in 2013 and Estate & Probate Law from 2015 through 2018. In 2013, Sam was recognized on the Iowa State Bar Association’s Pro Bono Honor Roll, and serves as a Co-Chair of Lane & Waterman’s robust Pro Bono program, including initiatives in both Illinois and Iowa. Sam is a member of the American Bar Association, Iowa State Bar Association, Scott County Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Rock Island County Bar Association, and the Quad City Estate Planning Council. Sam is very active in the Quad Cities community, currently serving as Board Member and Vice-Chairperson of the Center for Alcohol and Drug Services, Board of Trustees Member and Vice-Chairperson of the Robert Young Center, Board of Trustees Member and Secretary of the Figge Art Museum and also chairs its Governance Committee, is a United Way Young Leader, the Immediate Past President of the Quad Cities Estate Planning Council, and Tax Preparer for the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. He also is a frequent presenter on various estate planning topics around the Quad Cities.
