Maegan Gorham joined Lane & Waterman in 2018. Her practice focuses primarily on general business matters, employment, and education law. She assists corporations, limited liability companies, and other entities with formation and governance, commercial contract drafting and negotiation, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, and compliance matters. Maegan also assists partners and clients and with civil litigation in commercial and employment matters. Prior to joining the firm, Maegan worked as a director in higher education for over 10 years, as the executive director of a national not-for-profit organization, and as an adjunct professor at the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business and St. Ambrose University. She also interned for Judge Sara Darrow in the U.S. District Court, Central District of Illinois and for Justice Thomas D. Waterman in the Iowa Supreme Court. Maegan received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Monmouth College, post-graduate certificate in Nonprofit Management and Master’s in Organizational Leadership from St. Ambrose University, and Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Illinois State University. Maegan received her Juris Doctorate from The University of Iowa College of Law where she served as a student writer on the Journal of Corporation Law and a participant and judge for the Van Oosterhout-Baskerville Domestic Moot Court Competition.
