Laura Venasse Bio

Laura Venasse is a Partner at LaBarge Weinstein LLP, where she advises clients from across Canada and internationally on corporate, financing, and M&A transactions. Laura works closely with startups, growth-stage companies, investors, and acquirers, delivering strategic and practical advice tailored to their business needs. After completing her articles with the firm, Laura joined as an associate in 2016 and was named partner in 2022 in recognition of her transactional expertise and commitment to client service. Taking a pragmatic and collaborative approach, Laura is adept at guiding clients through complex and fast-paced deals. Beyond her client work, Laura actively contributes to recruitment and professional development within the firm. Laura is a regular guest lecturer at the University of Ottawa on various corporate law topics and serves as an advisor to startups, helping early-stage founders navigate legal and business challenges. Laura also enjoys staying connected to her community through nonprofit and mentorship work, offering support and sharing her experience where it’s needed. Outside of the office, Laura is all about making the most of time with her young family.
