Bio

Michael Penley is a partner at Kunzler Bean & Adamson, where his practice focuses representing private companies, private equity firms and investors in connection with mergers and acquisitions, licensing and strategic collaborations, fundraising, executive employment and general corporate matters. Michael’s clients span a variety of industries, including the life sciences and biotechnology, software, cleantech, fintech, healthcare and medical device industries. Michael brings unique experience having both represented companies and served as a senior member of corporate management teams. Prior to joining KB&A, Michael most recently served as General Counsel of GreatCall, Inc. (acquired by Best Buy Health in 2018), as Chief Executive Officer of Runbuggy, Inc. (acquired by Oremar Automotive Group) and as Chief Executive Officer and General Counsel of Annai Systems Inc., a genomic data analysis technology startup. Prior to working in house, Michael was a senior attorney at Cooley LLP in San Diego, California and started his legal practice with Kilpatrick & Townsend LLP in Atlanta, Georgia. Michael attended law school at the University of Tennessee where he graduated summa cum laude.
