Naina Krishna Murthy Bio

Naina Krishna Murthy is the founding partner of Krishnamurthy & Co. Her over 28-year-long career began at Arthur Andersen LLP, followed by a stint as the in-house Counsel at Bengaluru-based global pharmaceutical company, Biocon. She founded K Law in 1999. From its roots in Bengaluru, she has strategically piloted the firm’s expansion across the country, bringing on 85+ lawyers at offices in Bengaluru, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Chennai. Naina specialises in corporate commercial law, specifically mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, collaborations, and Private Equity and Venture Capital investments in the Information Technology, Renewable Energy, and Healthcare sectors. She has been a trusted legal advisor and representative to some of the world’s foremost corporations, including L&T, Ryerson Steel, Reliance Industries and its affiliates, HCG, Ingersoll Rand, Mahindra Group, Piramal Group, Mitsui & Co., and Dell Engineering Services. In addition, she has also been on specialised committees for companies such as Novartis India Limited, Mphasis Limited, McAfee Software India Private Limited, GE India Technology, British Telecom, and others. She also serves as an independent director in several companies, including Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited, Den Networks Limited, IndoStar Capital Finance Limited, Indostar Home Finance Private Limited, and Bandhan Mutual Fund Trustee Limited. At present, she is the Vice Chair (Membership) for the South Asia, Oceania, and India Committee at the American Bar Association (ABA). She is also on the Board of Sustainable Energy Infra Investment Managers Private Limited, an Investment Manager to Sustainable Energy Infra Trust — India’s largest renewable energy infrastructure investment trust co-sponsored by Mahindra Susten Private Limited and the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan.
