Thomas Kennedy Bio

Tom is a Partner and member of the Business and Finance Department. He practices in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, financings, private investments, joint ventures, and business succession. Tom regularly represents private funds and family offices, private equity sponsored portfolio companies, and independent sponsors. With more than 35 years of experience, Tom has represented both buy-and sell-side clients in various transactions ranging from small seed capital investments, joint ventures, private fund co-investments and acquisitions and dispositins via F-reorganizations. His understanding of transactional dynamics coupled with his broad knowledge of many business and regulatory landscapes enables him to advise his clients though all stages of a transaction and deliver strategically significant results. In addition, Tom regularly acts as outside general counsel to his clients, providing guidance on various corporate governance and commercial matters. Prior to joining Kleinbard, Tom was general counsel to a private investment fund focused on control investments in distressed assets and special situations.
