Rajat Mukherjee Bio

Rajat Mukherjee is a Partner in the Corporate and M&A practice group in the NCR office. With over 23 years of experience, Rajat concentrates primarily on M&A, strategic partnerships and cross-border transactions. Rajat also has significant experience in providing strategic advice to clients on high value corporate disputes and corporate governance matters. After completing his LLM from Columbia University, New York, Rajat worked in New York and Hong Kong for several years before joining the firm in 2010 to help build the Firm's M&A practice in New Delhi, which has been ranked as a Band 1 Corporate/M&A practice in India by Chambers & Partners. Rajat has been consistently recognized as a Leading Individual for corporate M&A by Chambers and Partners for several years including in the 2025 Global as well as Asia Pacific rankings. He was also ranked as a notable practitioner in M&A by IFLR1000 in 2024. In previous years, Rajat featured in the “Super 50” Indian Lawyers list (2020) and in the “40 under 40” list (2017). Legal 500 has identified Rajat as a key lawyer in the firm’s corporate practice for several years including in 2025. Rajat represents various domestic and international clients in a range of sectors including energy, media (print and digital), IT & ITES, pharmaceutical and healthcare, FMCG, auto components, logistics, education, and retail.
