Kartick represents private equity firms, SWFs and corporate strategic investors in a range of transactions in the healthcare, real estate, financial services, e-commerce, IT and consumer sectors. He also advises international hedge funds and family offices on Indian insolvency regulations, acquisition of distressed loan portfolios and general enforcement related strategy. Kartick actively engages with Indian regulators on policy matters – not just when it comes to pushing a client agenda, but also when it comes to simplicity and efficiency in rule making. He also sits on various corporate boards (manufacturing, IT services, financial services, etc) and enjoys getting a better understanding of industry trends in India. His recent accolades include (i) 2021- India Private Equity Lawyer of the Year (International Finance & Law Review), (ii) RSG – India Emerging Leader (2022), and (iii) 40 under 40 – Asia Legal Business (Thomson Reuters) Prior to joining Khaitan & Co as a partner in 2014, Kartick was part of the corporate practice at a large international firm. He’s a graduate of the National Law School, Bangalore and the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
