From his base in the firm’s west end office, Mike has built a practice catering to the many legal needs of small and mid-sized business owners. From guiding entrepreneurs on their incorporations, shareholders agreements and initial funding to restructuring established businesses ahead of a sale, Mike helps clients succeed at all stages of the business cycle. Whether he is working with a manufacturer, retailer, builder or doctor, Mike’s clients value his down-to-earth and approachable style and ability to explain any legal issue in a straightforward and meaningful way. He has a busy residential and commercial real estate practice working on behalf of individuals buying, selling and refinancing. He also acts for business owners, property managers and investors on negotiating leases, commercial financing and the acquisition and sale of commercial property. He also advises some of Canada’s leading financial institutions on commercial financing transactions ranging from under $1M to over $10M every year. Mike also practice in the area of wills and estates and can also advise his clients with respect to estate planning strategies that can help his clients achieve their goals and minimizes tax obligations now and in the future. Mike is a well known speaker on the legal issues involved in starting and running a business. He is an active volunteer in minor hockey and can be found most weekends enjoying time with his wife and young family.
