After graduating from college, Stephen Cunningham traveled to Botswana, Africa, where he worked in the Peace Corp for three years. Steve began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Kings Country (Brooklyn), New York in 1986. From 1990 to 1995, Steve was an associate trial attorney with a New York City firm, specializing in railroad and environmental coverage litigation. Since 1995 Steve has devoted his career to handling professional liability claims and lawsuits on behalf of insurance agents and brokers. In 2008, Steve, together with Jim Keidel and Chris Weldon started the law firm of Keidel, Weldon & Cunningham, LLP. Steve is a seasoned trial attorney who has tried cases throughout the State of New York in both the state and federal courts, and has been admitted pro hac vice to try cases in other states as well. In addition to his trial work, Steve is also an accomplished appellate attorney, and has argued cases in the highest court in the State of New York as well as in the United States Court of Appeals. He is also licensed as a continuing education instructor by the New York State Insurance Department.
