Bio

Zachary Peterson practices in the firm's Business Representation and Transactions Group, focusing on understanding his clients’ individual businesses and tailoring legal solutions to fit them. Having served as a General Counsel for seven years, Zach understands what clients demand from their outside counsel partners, and views all legal matters through a business lens and in the larger business context. He focuses his current practice on representing companies on a wide range of corporate matters, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestures, as well as business formation, organization, and other commercial transactions. Zach also regularly counsels clients on day-to-day legal matters, negotiation of key contracts, and overall business strategies. Zach also brings significant general and government-defense litigation experience. Before joining KMK Law, Zach was the General Legal Counsel and Chief Financial Officer of a well-known, mid-sized company in Cincinnati, Ohio where he advised fellow senior management with respect to corporate transactions, real estate and zoning law, litigation, environmental matters, regulatory compliance, employment, transportation, OSHA, MSHA, workers’ compensation, unemployment benefits, government, and more. As CFO, he also directly oversaw the company’s accounting and back-office functions including preparation of financial statements, taxes, employee benefits, commercial insurance and risk management, accounts payable and receivable, banking, job costing, marketing, and safety, in addition to managing the company’s 50+ tenancies. In addition to his practice, Zach is a Law Professor at the Salmon P. Chase College of Law where he teaches legal writing, and he serves on Anderson Township’s Economic Development Committee helping the Township to meet its comprehensive future plan.
