Jin Xinghui specializes in foreign direct investment, mergers and acquisitions, business restructuring and the liquidation of foreign-invested enterprises in China, as well as dispute resolution. Mr. Jin started his legal career at the Beijing headquarters of King & Wood PRC Lawyers. From 2004 to 2007, Mr. Jin practiced at the Foreign Direct Investment Group of King & Wood where he focused on assisting foreign investors entering the Chinese market by way of green-field investments, joint ventures or M&As. During this period, he helped many multinational companies establish wholly or partly owned subsidiaries in China, and also assisted in the establishments of many Sino-foreign equity or cooperative joint ventures. From 2007 to 2014, Mr. Jin practiced at the Seoul office of Kim & Chang, the largest and most prominent law firm in Korea. During this period, he was frequently engaged in many high-caliber M&A projects in which he assisted in the transfer, reorganization or consolidation of assets or shares of Chinese subsidiaries of M&A parties. While working at Kim & Chang, Mr. Jin worked closely with the headquarters of many Korean multinational companies to provide legal service in connection with the restructuring of their Chinese businesses and operations. In the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, Mr. Jin engaged in many dispute resolution cases arising from cross-border investment and financing transactions between China and South Korea. From 2015 to 2017, after the completion of his LL.M. program, Mr. Jin worked at the New York office of Kobre & Kim, a US law firm specializing in disputes and investigations. He is a native speaker of both Mandarin and Korean, and is fluent in English. During his LL.M. study, Mr. Jin worked as an editor of the American Review of International Arbitration.
