He Kan started his career at JunHe in 2003. He has represented many multinational companies (including Fortune 500 enterprises) in merger and acquisition projects, joint venture transactions, and strategic investment projects in various industries such as food & nutrition, automotive, chemistry, logistics, real property, medical device, and retail & distribution. Mr. He has served as lead counsel in major transactions, including those involving complex government approvals, state-owned enterprises, cross-border structures, and massive layoff or transfer of employees. In 2012, Mr. He spent several months working as a visiting attorney at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, a mergers and acquisitions powerhouse that consistently ranks on top of other US firms and specializes in handling the largest, most complex and demanding transactions in the United States and around the world. In 2018, Mr. He was ranked in the ALB China Top 15 M&A Lawyers, and received an IFLR Asia Award for Private Equity Deal of the Year and an ALB Award for M&A Deal of the Year. Mr. He was also selected by the PRC Ministry of Justice as one of the top 1000 lawyers specialized in foreign-related matters. In 2019, Mr. He received an IFLR Asia Award for M&A Deal of the Year and a China Law & Practice Award for M&A Deal of the Year. In 2020, Mr. He was recognized as a leading lawyer in corporate/M&A by Legal 500 Asia Pacific and Who's Who Legal. In 2021 and 2022, Mr. He was recognized as a leading lawyer in corporate/M&A by Chambers and Legal 500 Asia Pacific, and was recognized by Thomson Reuters as one of the Stand-out Lawyers. In 2023, Mr. He was recognized as a leading lawyer in corporate/M&A by Chambers and Who's Who Legal. In addition to his work in M&A, Mr. He also serves as China counsel to a number of leading companies and non-government organizations in their general corporate and regulatory compliance matters throughout China. He has the expertise to advise on the most complex, challenging and critical regulatory issues. Mr. He has been appointed as an adjunct professor for LL.M. students by Shanghai University of Finance & Economics since 2018, and has been appointed as a mentor for LL.M. students by East China University of Political Science and Law.
